Hi Alexis,

Sorry for the slow response. I forgot Cara had this up on her site.
I would say if you really love art and design and know that is what you want to do for a career then go for the BFA. If you are trying to double major or do a major and a minor the BA is probably the right way for you to go. I found that I barely had enough time to get in all of my BFA credit hours within the 4 year period at oswego. Granted I played baseball all 4 years there so I didn't really have the option to cram in extra courses to try and squeeze in a minor.

Looking back on it I would have felt that a BA would have only allowed me to get a taste of what the Oswego design program has to offer. But if you have passions in another area or want another major or minor under your belt then I think a BA would work best unless you have extra time to put into the BFA, or don't mind going to college past 4 years :)

Hope this helped. Any more questions feel free to ask or email me. Always happy to help.

Hi! I'm a graphic design major from SUNY Oswego, and I was just wondering if I could ask for some advise?
Do you think it's better to be a BFA or a BA in graphic design? Does it matter?
And also, if I were to double major or minor, what would you recommend?
Thank you. :)
